An INSTAR (/ˈɪnstɑːr/ ⓘ, from the Latin īnstar ‘form, likeness’) is a developmental stage of a butterfly between from a cocoon to a beautiful butterfly. The larva must shed the exoskeleton in order to grow or assume a new form.
